  • Lightly insult them
  • Seriously insult them
  • Say something to either check them (or)
  • Say something as a witty comeback.

But don’t know what to say or how to phrase it appropriately? Swear words come to the rescue. Read on to find the five (5) Spanish swear words to know.

Spanish swear word #1 to know: *sshole

The Spanish swear word ‘pendejo,’ meaning *sshole, is a classic swear word. This version of the word is male. The female version of the word is pendeja. While it might be commonly translated or understood as *sshole, the literal interpretation is that of pubic hair. The word can be used as a light insult to indicate that you find the speaker:

  • Stupid, brainless, or otherwise uninformed
  • Is acting inappropriately
  • Did something funny, but like, no, really – you need to stop
  • Is a jackass, “wanker” (chiefly British), etc.
  • To be thoroughly offensive. If using this word in an argument, be prepared to offend the other party to the fullest extent possible.

Some alternatives to this may be

  • Idiota or el estúpido, which translates to calling the other person an idiot, bonehead, fool, coot, donkey, moron, blunderhead berk, stupid person
  • el tonto, el loco, or el bobo, which translates to silly, booby, fool, stupid, loony idiot, dummy, or moron

Spanish swear word #2: the “F” bomb

The word f*ck literally means “to have sexual intercourse with.” The F-word and all its derivatives are both one of the most divisive words in the English language, as well as one that can be used as almost any part of speech. For instance

    • Hard as f*ck
    • Yes, thank you, I’d love a f*ck.
    • Mary is a fine f*ck
  • Pronoun: “I hit f*ck-face over there with a baseball bat.”

  • Verb: “I love to f*ck while eating duck.”
  • Adverb: “It was f*ck hard”,
  • Conjunction: “I went swimming, f*ck the cold.”
  • Interjection: F*ck! I stubbed my toe

It can also be used to express a variety of emotions
